VP of Sales
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Vice President of Sales will be responsible for leading the sales team and driving revenue growth for the company. This individual will build and develop existing relationships as well as identify and establish new partnerships. The successful candidate will possess a strategic mindset, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of sales success.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions
Develop & Execute Growth Strategy
- Develop and implement sales strategies that align with overall company goals and objectives
- Collaborate with the executive team to define the growth strategy
- Identify new business opportunities, target markets and industry trends to drive business growth
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies to penetrate new markets and expand our existing client base
- Continuously analyze and evaluate sales data to identify areas for improvement
Sales & Business Development
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, prospects and partners
- Drive the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal close
- Stay up to date on products, industry developments and competitive landscape
- Develop and clearly articulate (1) the value proposition for KL solutions and products, (2) corporate brand message and (3) differentiators to customers, peers, teams, prospects, and partners
- Develop presentations for speaking engagements at various industry conferences.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the sales organization while fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, high performance, and ethical behavior.
- Empower, motivate, and enable sales team to meet mutual revenue goals and exceed sales targets
- Refine and govern the Sales organization's performance management system, including establishing guiding sales organizational principles for managing performance, establishing and prioritizing critical performance measures for all sales jobs; allocate organization objectives across all sales channels, markets and personnel while ensuring all sales associates are held accountable for assigned results.
- Develop, refine and implement best-in-class sales training curriculum that is deemed exemplary by management and the Board of Directors that effectively drives strong returns internally.
Strategic Partnerships
- Develop, nurture, and grow meaningful strategic partnerships to enhance our service offering and expand market reach
- Collaborate with partners to drive joint marketing and sales initiatives, resulting in increased business opportunities
- Create a deep communication loop that allows information to flow freely from customer to KL which better allows marketing and technology development teams manage product pipelines, technology development and understand where gaps/opportunities exist in the market and what customer problems exist that could be profitably solved in future products by KL.
Revenue & Financial Management
- Develop annual revenue forecasts, budgets and sales plans, ensuring alignment with growth objectives
- Implement predictable, repeatable, and scalable sales and marketing processes using data analytics, and manage a consistent pipeline and forecasting methodology that provides the CEO and Board of Directors clear expectations for planning purposes.
- Monitor sales performance, analyze key metrics and implement corrective action as necessary
- Drive profitability by effectively managing resources, pricing strategies and project delivery
Secondary Functions
- Accomplishes all other tasks as appropriately assigned or requested
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
The following are the minimum qualifications an individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree preferred in business concentration or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience
- 7-10+ years of experience in a sales leadership role with appropriate insustries
- 4+ years of experience in successful senior sales role in high-growth, entrepreneurial cultures
- 2+ years of experience working with sales technology
- Experience working in B2B SaaS company
Skills/Abilities
- Strong technology skills and the ability to leverage technology in work processes
- Track record of recruiting and attracting prior employees.
- Strong leadership, management and mentorship capabilities that will complement and enhance the existing team's capabilities.
- Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with demonstrated success creating and implementing plans in high-growth, dynamic environments

- Ability to take ownership of responsibilities and effectively handle interpersonal relationships with others
- Knowledge of principles, procedures and best practices in the industry

- Microsoft Office programs experience and Advanced Excel.
- Ability to monitor and manage multiple initiatives concurrently
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on customer satisfaction and revenue generation.
